Job Title:

Business Analyst for Pathology System

Primary Objective

 

This position provides support and maintenance for the Pathology Information System to the Northern Territory Government Pathology Services and offers secondary support for the DHF Pharmacy System.

Services that ensures that the ongoing development of the Pathology Information System is aligned to both Pathology Services and National business requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1.        Prepare business functional specifications to communicate complex business requirements to vendors/developers of computer systems (primarily the Pathology System Vendors).

2.        Provide high-level advice to Hospital Executives, Business Managers and Operational staff on data collections, the functionality requirements for Information Systems for Pathology Services.

3.        Organise workshops to consult key stakeholders on the modification of existing Information Systems or the development and implementation of new Information Systems and to clarify Information Technology issues.

4.        Ensure training and support in the use of information technology is aligned to business requirements.

5.        Facilitate change management in the workplace to ensure that the work practices/processes are aligned to the implementation of new technology including Pathology System upgrades.

 

Selection Criteria

Essential:

 

1.        Experience in health services and the use of Information Technology to support clinical practice.

 

Desirable:

 

1.        Experience in developing information system specification reflecting work practice and process

2.        Experience in project management.

3.        Good verbal and writing communication skills.

4.        Good understanding of the principles of Change Management.

5.        Information Technology Qualifications or similar relevant studies.
